River Arts District Festival Helps Artists Recover After Hurricane Helene

After Hurricane Helene damaged roughly 80 percent of the River Arts District, community leaders organized festivals and markets to support artists who lost studios and inventory.

Jeffrey Burroughs, president of River Arts District Artists, said the event was designed to help artists rebuild income and reconnect with the community.

“There’s an unimaginable amount of loss,” Burroughs said. “And I hope that our local community will continue to show up for us.”
